Vehicle-Grid Integration Council Welcomes Steve Letendre, PhD as Senior Advisor

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Vehicle-Grid Integration Council (VGIC) is pleased to announce that Steve Letendre, PhD has joined VGIC as a Senior Advisor. In this role, Steve will further strengthen VGIC’s regulatory engagement and policy analysis, helping expand the organization’s impact during this critical phase of vehicle-grid integration (VGI) market development.

Steve will lead VGIC’s efforts in priority states such as New York, Massachusetts, and Maryland, working in a fractional role with the VGIC team to advance policy frameworks and regulatory strategies that unlock the full value of electric vehicles as grid resources.

A seasoned energy economist and regulatory strategist, Steve brings more than two decades of leadership at the intersection of energy policy and clean technology innovation. He has held senior roles with Synapse Energy Economics, Nuvve, and Fermata Energy, and is widely recognized for his expertise in grid modernization, distributed energy resource policy, and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) solutions.

“Having served on the VGIC Board and engaged with the organization as a member company, I know firsthand the importance of VGIC’s leadership in shaping regulatory frameworks that enable the benefits of VGI to be realized,” said Steve Letendre, PhD. “I look forward to working with the VGIC team and members to expand the organization’s impact as we build the market for bidirectional charging and grid-integrated EV solutions.”

Steve most recently served as Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs at Fermata Energy, where he led regulatory engagement strategies at the state and federal levels. He has also taught for over a decade as adjunct faculty at Vermont Law School’s Master’s in Energy Regulation and Law program.
