VEHICLE-GRID INTEGRATION COUNCIL
Electric vehicles are here and will play a critical role in decarbonizing the transportation and electric sectors.
Why VGI?
Fueling electric vehicles with clean energy from the grid and utilizing flexible V1G and V2G resources present unique new opportunities for customers, utilities, automotive manufacturers (OEMs), and EV service providers. VGI can unlock benefits to EV drivers, the grid, and ratepayers.
Our Work
VGIC is active in creating both market development and business development opportunities. Our policy efforts support the transition to decarbonized transportation and electric sectors by ensuring the value from EV deployments and flexible charging and discharging is recognized and compensated to achieve a more reliable, affordable, and efficient grid.
Geographic Focus
Given California’s ambitious goal of 5 million zero-emission vehicles by 2030 and 250,000 EV charging stations by 2025, California is the primary market for VGIC regulatory advocacy efforts. VGIC also offers market intelligence in several other states across the U.S.
